Logan Wins " Border Clash " 2010 Heavyweight Championship

The 2011 "BORDER CLASH" wrestling tournament held at Magna Vista H.S., January 22nd, included 15 Teams from Virginia & North Carolina.
Logan secured the Heavywieght Tournament Championship with a decisive 34 sec. pin over the McMichael H.S. opponent.
The championship improves Logan's (freshman year) Varsity record to 12-5 for the 2011 season.

The Martinsville Bulletin article states.."Magna Vista wrestling coach Zeak Ca’stle had no expectations that his heavyweight, Logan Turner, would make it to the tournament final. After all, Turner is just a freshman. Thirty-four seconds into his final match, Turner made it quite clear that he belonged. That’s how long it took for the freshman to pin his opponent to win his weight class in the Magna Vista Border Clash on Saturday, putting an exclamation point on a third-place finish for the Warriors in the 15-team tournament in Ridgeway.

HOLIDAY CLASSIC - Eden, NC December 11, 2010

Logan's first H.S. Varsity Invitational Tournament, as a freshman, at the Eden Holiday Classic on Saturday Dec. 11, 2010, he saw some great competition and proved to be his toughest competition to date  wrestling against all upper classmen with considerably more experience.  Logan held his own, with 2 wins by PIN over his competitors from Southwest Randolph H.S. and Seventy First H.S.  Wrestling a total of 5 matches during the tournament, his remaining 3 matches were losses to more experienced grapplers from Southwest Guilford H.S., Martinsville H.S., by pin and Morehead N.C. heavyweight by a 4-2 decision.  Undaunted by his lack of High School experience, he gained valuable experience to carry him throughout the rest of the season.

This brings Logan’s High School record to 4 wins, 3 losses, with an overall record of 64-9.
