In another Pre-Season Wrestling tournament, Logan Turner HWT 285 (Cave Spring High School) participated in the HALLOWEEN HAVOC tournament at Davie County High School - Mocksville, NC. 

In addition to Logan the field included heavyweights from North Carolina:
  • Joe Vega - HWT Southside H.S.
  • Brandon Lawson - HWT Tomahawk Wrestling
  • Archer Lee - HWT Powerhouse Wrestling
In the Round Robin format, Logan prevailed and won all three of his matches by PIN and in doing so Won the HWT 285 Championship Title... below are the videos of each of those rounds.

August 2-a-day practices are in full swing and the 96 degree heat is a major factor (Channel 10 Cave Spring Video). Practice continues this week and we will have our first scrimmage with Floyd County HS on Friday August 5th @ Bogle Field, 6:00 pm. and next week we will have a scrimmage with Brookville HS in Lynchburg. I am now attending Cave Spring High School in Roanoke, VA, where I am looking forward to continuing and improving on my AcademicFootball and Wrestling skills and past success, in the Region IV, AA, River Ridge Distrct with the Knights.

Logan Ranks #13 Nationally, In Wrestling USA Magazine

Wrestling USA Magazine, March 15, 2011 issue, Ranks Logan #13 Nationally among the
30 -Nations Best Sophmores & Freshman High School Wrestlers and is the #3 Ranked Freshman of the 8 Freshman who made the list and is the only one from Virginia (in 285 weight class) that made the rankings. The magazine updated it's previous rankings in the November 15, 2010 issue, where Logan ranked 14th in that issue.

The six factors that are considered in determining the rankings are:
  1. Accomplishments at the state high school championships (folkstyle)
  2. Performance at prestigious high school tournaments
  3. National Junior Freestyle and Greco Roman success
  4. Cadet National Placement
  5. Information from coaches and parents
  6. State from which nominees hail
