Finishing out the 2011 Wrestling "Regular Season"

Logan has finished out the Regular & Post Season competition at the Region IV "AA" tournament in Grundy, Va.  Placing 5th in the Region, just missing his qualifying, as a freshman, for the State Tournament in Salem, the states taking the 1-4 finishers in their respective weight class.

But nonetheless a very successful Freshman year and finishes the 2010-2011 regular season with an outstanding 22-8 record, earning the... Piedmont District HWT 285 Championship 
and the 2011 Border Clash Tournament Championship - 285 HWT this season.

Moving on with the Post Season, Logan will be competing in the Nationals in VA Beach,  March 29-April 1 and possibly the Ohio Tournament of Champions on April 16th in Columbus, Ohio.

He also is registered to attend the UVA wrestling camp in June as well as the VA TECH camp in July.  Not one to rest on his laurels he plans to work on his skills throughout the summer in preparation for his Sophmore year.

2011 PIEDMONT DISTRICT CHAMPION - REGION IV "AA" Hwt 285

The Piedmont District Championship match was held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Martinsville M.S.  Logan, a Freshman, entered the tournament seeded 2nd behind #1 seed & rival Zack Jennings (Sr) of Martinsville H.S.
After receiving a 1st round bye, Logan took on Jordan Blankenship (Sr) of Patrick County H.S. and pinned his rival in the First Round.

The Championship Match, against #1 seed Jennings, went the full 6 minutes, and resulted in a 9-1 decision in favor of Logan, resulting in the Heavyweight Championship title. A feat that has not been accomplished before by a Freshman wrestler in the Piedmont District.


Logan takes his Freshman year record of 18-6 into the Group "AA" Region IV Tournament this weekend, Feb. 11th & 12th, hosted by Grundy H.S. against some tough competion, all of which in his weight class are upper classmen.  If Logan can finish in the Top 4, in the regionals, he will qualify for the State "AA" Tournament in Salem, Va. February 18th & 19th.

His confidence has not waned, as he certainly plans on competing in the State Finals, this year.
